Namaskaram Yoga participated in as well as hosted events to mark and celebrate the first ever International Day of Yoga. June 21 has been declared as International Day of Yoga by the United Nations. It's also the Summer Solstice when Sun reaches its highest position in the sky as seen from North Pole, and is a very significant day in the yogic tradition. June 21 of 2015 will go down in history as a phenomenal day. People from all age groups and from diverse walks of life, all across the globe, rolled out their yoga mats in parks, in their homes, in work places, in community centers, on military ships, and even in an army base in a desert. There was a massive turnout, like never seen before. Its an astounding leap of mankind towards Yoga, to embrace peace, unity and human well-being.
"Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature.'
- Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India
